Overview
Sportify is built for football academies to manage training schedules, attendance, session videos, and communication between coaches, players, and parents. This policy describes the personal data Sportify collects through the app, who can see it, and the controls available to you.
Sportify is owned and operated by Sportify Egypt Group, which also owns and runs the football academies you or your child train with. This policy describes the personal data Sportify collects across our academies, who can see it, and the controls available to you.
When a player joins one of our academies, our staff create the relevant player, parent, and coach accounts and add the contact details needed to run training, such as phone numbers.
Account types
Sportify supports a few different account types, each with a different level of access:
| Account type | Typical user | What they can see |
|---|---|---|
| Player / Parent account | A player, or a parent/guardian managing a younger player's account | Their own training schedule, session videos and drills, attendance history, and any notes a coach has shared with them |
| Coach account | Academy coaching staff | Rosters and schedules for their assigned teams, attendance tools, and the ability to add session notes and upload videos |
| Academy admin account | Academy management/staff (if used) | Broader oversight of teams, schedules, and accounts within the academy |
Accounts are created in one of two ways: older players may register their own account directly, while younger players have their account created and managed by a parent or guardian. In both cases, our academy staff oversee account setup and can assist with access if needed.
Information we collect

- Name, phone number, and (if provided) email address
- Player date of birth, team, and position
- Parent/guardian contact details, where the account belongs to a minor
- Profile photo, if one is uploaded
- Account role (player, parent, coach, admin)
Training & attendance information
- Training schedules, session times, and locations
- Attendance records taken by coaches
- Coach notes on session participation, drills completed, and development feedback
Media
- Videos and photos of training sessions and drills, uploaded by coaches or academy staff
Technical & usage information
- Device type, operating system, and app version
- Log data such as crash reports and feature usage, used to keep the app working reliably
- Push notification tokens, used to deliver schedule reminders and updates
Phone numbers & messaging
Phone numbers are central to how Sportify keeps families informed, so we want to be specific about how they're used:
- Account setup and verification — a one-time code may be sent by SMS to confirm a phone number when an account is created.
- Schedule notifications — reminders about upcoming sessions, schedule changes, or cancellations.
- Account recovery — verifying identity if access to an account needs to be restored.
We do not use phone numbers for advertising, and we do not sell or rent phone numbers to third parties.
How we use information
- Operate core features: schedules, rosters, attendance, and session media
- Send relevant notifications about training and academy updates
- Allow coaches to track player development and participation over time
- Maintain and improve the app's performance and reliability
- Respond to support requests from players, parents, or coaches
- Meet legal, safety, or safeguarding obligations where applicable to youth sports programs
Videos, photos & session media
Coaches may record videos or photos during training sessions and drills for coaching and development purposes. This media is generally visible to the player and their parent/guardian, and to coaching staff working with that player or team.
Not for public use without consent. Session media uploaded to Sportify is intended for use within the app by the academy, the player, and their parent/guardian. We do not publish this media publicly, and your academy should not use it outside the app (e.g., on social media or marketing materials) without separately obtaining the relevant consent from the parent/guardian.
If you'd prefer that your child not be included in session recordings, contact your academy directly, since recording practices are set and managed by the academy using Sportify's tools.
Coach access & responsibilities
Coach accounts are given access to the rosters, schedules, and media needed to run their assigned teams. This includes the ability to take attendance, write development notes, and upload session videos.
Coaches are expected to access player and parent information only for legitimate coaching and academy purposes, and not to share it outside the app or with anyone unrelated to the academy. Academies are responsible for training their coaching staff on appropriate handling of player data.
Children's privacy
Many Sportify players are minors. We've designed account structures so that a parent or guardian, or the academy itself, manages the player's account rather than the child creating one independently.
Parental involvement. Where a player is a minor, their account should be set up and overseen by a parent or guardian, or by the academy under an agreement that covers parental consent. Parents/guardians can contact the academy or use the contact details below to review, correct, or request deletion of their child's information.
We aim to collect only the information about minors that's needed to run academy training, attendance, and communication — we do not use children's data for advertising or profiling.
Security & retention
We use technical and organizational measures intended to protect personal data, including encryption in transit, access controls limiting who can view account data, and restricted access to session media. No system is completely secure, so we encourage strong, unique passwords and prompt reporting of any suspected unauthorized access.
We retain account, attendance, and media data for as long as the account is active with the academy, and for a limited period afterward to support records requests or legal obligations, after which it is deleted or anonymized.
Your rights & choices
Under Egypt's Personal Data Protection Law, you have rights to:
- Be informed about how your data, or your child's data, is collected and used
- Access the personal data we hold about you or your child
- Correct inaccurate information
- Withdraw consent and request deletion of your data, subject to academy and legal record-keeping needs
- Object to certain processing and opt out of non-essential notifications
- Ask for a copy of your data in a portable format
To exercise any of these, contact your academy or reach us using the details in the Contact section below. Because Sportify accounts are managed through your academy, some requests may need to be coordinated with academy staff. If a request isn't resolved to your satisfaction, you may also contact Egypt's Personal Data Protection Center (PDPC), the authority responsible for enforcing the Personal Data Protection Law.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time as Sportify's features evolve. If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify academies or users directly within the app.
